Where To Buy Epson Stylus CX7400 Color All-in-One Printer
>> Tuesday, January 5, 2010

I have to add my opinion, since I found this page searching for "CX7400 won't print if low on one color". I guess I can't complain too much, I did receive this printer free at Fry's a year ago with a new laptop purchase. I ditched my old HP printer because this one looked nicer, had a smaller footprint on my desk, and had a built-in flatbed scanner.
Here's the catch... as SOON as you install the printer, you notice that the cartidges provided are "provisional" and only have about 20% ink. you get all these windows urging you to buy Epson genuine ink with big yellow buttons to click to take you to their online store. Once you do run out of ink (after about 10 pages), you can go to Costco and get the 3 colors + 2 blacks for about $60. That should last a while, right? Well we printed about 60 certificates with a blue logo the other day without too much of a hitch (except for paper jams, that if aren't corrected properly using the driver software it decides to restart the entire print job from page 1). Today I go to print a single text-only page, and the pop-up tells me my cyan is out and I should replace the cartidge (all others are at 50%+, black is at 100%). So I cancel out of that, and go to print again, this time selecting (use only black ink). The pop-up still tells me the cyan is out, which I know, and is why I chose black only. After about 10 minutes of searching around for the setting to shut it up and continue anyway, I get frustrated and start searching around for help. All the help I found was rant pages about this printer and how it's basically useless, which helped me to make a decision never to buy or use Epson again, and go look for a better printer rather than spend anoter dollar on a pack of inks that run out in a few weeks.Get more detail about Epson Stylus CX7400 Color All-in-One Printer.
