There aren't many places that sell Canon ink. It is relatively expensive. I pay nearly $[...] for both black and colored ink. That doesn't sound like a lot but when you are buying it twice a month it adds up.
The main issues that I have with this printer is that after about a year, it started jamming. I followed all the cleaning procedures, talked to tech support and did everything they said to do. To fix it, it would cost more than purchasing another one.
So I bought a Canon Pixma printer with no scanner, and planned on using this as a scanner. But in our move I lost the disk. I have come across several people on message boards that are having the same problem. What good is it to have a scanning printer if you can't scan?
I would really research ANY printer you plan on buying. When you have a couple you like, start researching the ink you need for them. If the manufacturer of the ink (kodak for example) has a decent price but will not tell you how many pages you are going to get out of one cartridge, I would keep looking.
