Buying HP Photosmart C3180 All-in-One Printer, Scanner, and Copier

I also got this printer free after rebate when buying my mac. Although some reviews state that the windows software functions poorly, I have found the opposite to be true with my mac. It also came with a very nice photo editing program that I use frequently since I don't have Photoshop.

It also functions as a copier without the computer attached, which I have found to be very handy since I own a laptop.

I have had two issues When printing high quality images, the printer functions extremely slowly. When printing a pamphlet I designed with a large color photo on the front, it took around twenty minutes for a single copy.

The other is that the printer has no clear system for testing the ink cartridges. Previous HP printers I have used from back in the nineties easily printed test pages and warned me when I was out of ink without the computer running.
